Fabric print from PhotoFabrics

Vienna Oeko Cotton Fabric Cards

Task:
In the course of a citizen participation in different Viennese districts, their inhabitants (school children as well as adults) are asked about environmental topics. In concrete terms, this means for us the production of city maps of the various districts printed on natural fiber, which are to serve as orientation in future discussions.

Since the primary focus is on climate-friendly solutions in the respective city districts, sustainable working materials are to be distributed to 50 districts in a toolbox.

Requirements:
* Environmentally friendly, i.e. sustainable materials

* Printed in high resolution, the legibility of the street names must be ensured in the process.

* Appealing haptics

For the toolbox foldable to the specified size

Problems:
1. In order to achieve optimum legibility of even smaller street names, only polyester or PVC has been considered as a printing substrate material up to now.

2. PVC tarpaulins are difficult, limited or impractical to fold.

3. PVC is problematic in disposal.

Solution:
At our new facility in Spain, PhotoFabrics GmbH produces reactive prints in high resolution

1440 dpi print mode on sustainable Oekotex certified cotton fabrics sourced from South America.

Since 2021, we have thus been meeting the demand of our increasingly young clientele for new, innovative and at the same time sustainable solutions.
