Promote vocational training – Photorealistic textile printing

The digital printing of fabrics raises questions, starting with the possibility of printing a carpet floor with a Photo to be designed in 720 dpi, right up to the production of Tablecloths with company logos. To obtain answers to these questions, the students of the one-year vocational school of media design went on an excursion to Photofabrics to Ludwigsburg.

PhotoFabrics GmbH has been printing textiles and floor coverings for renowned companies such as Mercedes, VW, AMG, Dior and Louis Vuitton for over 20 years, but also for interior designers, stage sets for opera houses and red carpet events. The possibilities for fabric printing are diverse and range from individual items to large-scale projects. Tablecloths from silk for clothing to cotton for organic supermarkets, as well as roll-ups with fabric sails.

With around 20 employees, Peter Sapper offers services in the following specialist areas: textile printing, Carpet printing, Building construction, architecture and visual communication in large format.

The students of the 1BFD and their supervising teacher, Wolfgang Aust, would like to thank them for the fascinating insights into the production processes of Photofabrics. A special thanks goes to the production manager Mr. Mauring and his colleague Thomas, who made this excursion possible for us.
